2. The service
NatDetec is a free tool that estimates your connection's NAT type from your browser and offers information on how to improve it. The test runs in your browser; it installs nothing and opens no ports. By using the site you accept these terms.
3. Nature of the results
- The result is an estimate based on the answers of public STUN servers. It may differ from what a console shows, as the console tests its own network with its own settings (UPnP, port forwarding, DMZ).
- A browser cannot tell every NAT subtype apart or detect UPnP. PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch equivalents are indicative.
- PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and Steam are trademarks of their owners. NatDetec is not affiliated with any of them.
4. Configuration advice
The guides (UPnP, port forwarding, DMZ, bridge mode) are provided for information. Change your router's settings at your own risk; if in doubt, ask your provider. DMZ and port forwarding expose the device concerned more: do not apply them to a computer.
5. Acceptable use
You must not query the site in an automated, large-scale way, circumvent its technical limits or disrupt the service.
6. No warranty and liability
The service is provided free of charge, “as is” and “as available”, with no guarantee of accuracy. To the extent permitted by law, NatDetec is not liable for damages arising from use of the test or of the advice provided. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or removes mandatory consumer rights you have in your country of residence.
7. Personal data and cookies
See the privacy policy and the cookie policy.
8. Changes and governing law
We may change these terms; the version in force is the one published on this page. Subject to mandatory consumer rights, these terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, and the courts of Wyoming have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in the European Union, you keep the protection of the mandatory provisions of your country of residence.
